About BYLC:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC)-the country\u2019s first leadership institute\u2014builds leadership, employability, and entrepreneurship skills in youth from diverse backgrounds, nurtures their values of integrity, respect, and empathy, and connects them to jobs and business opportunities. With the aim to develop compassionate, competent, and courageous leaders, BYLC envisions that these youth will have a high impact in the public, private, and civil sectors and demonstrate proactive actions for positive socio-economic and environmental changes. By empowering young people to act on behalf of issues they deeply care about, BYLC aspires to create a prosperous, just, inclusive society and a sustainable world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Purpose:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jaagoron project is a civic engagement initiative to be implemented in Dhaka, Manikganj, Gazipur, Chattogram, and Satkhira districts. Led by BYLC in partnership with YPSA and Agrogoti Sangstha, the project aims to empower youth to lead inclusive, rights-based local development through enhanced civic awareness, leadership, and engagement. Project activities will include forming youth groups and engaging existing YLOs, CBOs and OPDs. These groups will receive leadership and civic engagement training and will raise awareness on civic rights through youth meetings and dialogues at the community, union, and upazila levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jaagoron is an anticipated project. The recruitment process is ongoing now. Finally selected candidates will be onboarded after receiving the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Finance and Accounts Officer is responsible for managing the organization\u2019s financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, and maintaining compliance with financial policies and donor requirements. The role includes budgeting, financial reporting, fund disbursement, management, audit coordination and assist management in financial planning and decision-making. The officer also maintains petty cash, preserving bills and vouchers and ensures transparency, accountability, and efficient use of organizational resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Major responsibilities (detailed job description will be available for short-listed candidates)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf Manage daily and petty cash operations, verify claims with proper documentation, and ensure timely payments and deposits
\u25cf Prepare treasury challans, obtain necessary approvals, and maintain accurate financial and vendor records
\u25cf Oversee fund disbursements, budget tracking, and variance reporting to ensure efficient financial management
\u25cf Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and statutory regulations, including VAT and tax updates
\u25cf Maintain organized filing of vouchers, bank statements, agreements, and other financial documents, ensuring transparency and accountability
\u25cf Support financial reporting, audits, regulatory submissions, and identify policy gaps for better implementation
\u25cf Assist in team development, guide staff on financial procedures (claims, advances, PR, ERF, etc.), and support workshops and strategic planning
\u25cf Any task assigned by the supervisor<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Desired candidate profile:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Education:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf Graduation in Accounting & Information Systems or Finance from any reputed university with a good academic record. No 3rd division\/class will be allowed<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u25cf A minimum of one year of working experience in finance and accounts
\u25cf Experience in working in international\/local NGO or donor agencies
\u25cf Professional qualification: Business or Finance background<\/p>\n\n\n\n
