About BYLC:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) is the country\u2019s first leadership institute focused on empowering youth from diverse backgrounds. The organization develops leadership, employability, and entrepreneurship skills while promoting values such as integrity, empathy, and respect. BYLC connects young people to career and business opportunities to help them become compassionate and impactful leaders. Through youth empowerment, BYLC aims to contribute to a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JAAGORON Project:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project Jaagoron is a civic engagement initiative to be implemented in Dhaka, Manikganj, Gazipur, Chattogram, and Satkhira districts. Led by BYLC in partnership with YPSA and Agrogoti Sangstha, the project aims to empower youth to lead inclusive, rights-based local development through enhanced civic awareness, leadership, and engagement. Project activities will include forming youth groups and engaging existing YLOs, CBOs, and OPDs. These groups will receive leadership and civic engagement training and will raise awareness on civic rights through youth meetings and dialogues at the community, union, and upazila levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose of the Course:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course aims to equip young people with practical knowledge and skills to participate meaningfully in local governance, raise community concerns, and engage with decision-making processes. It supports JAAGORON\u2019s goal of strengthening inclusive, informed, and youth-led civic engagement for responsive local development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synopsis of the Course<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cActive Citizenship (\u09b8\u099c\u09be\u0997 \u09a8\u09be\u0997\u09b0\u09bf \u0995)\u201d course under Project JAAGORON aims to empower young people to become active citizens who can contribute to community development, monitor public services, communicate community concerns, and engage with duty-bearers. Through practical learning on social accountability tools, community communication, grievance redressal, and safe civic participation, the course equips learners with the knowledge and skills to promote accountability, address community issues, and take meaningful civic action. The course duration will be approximately 60 – 90 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
