About BYLC:
Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC)-the country’s first leadership institute—builds leadership, employability, and entrepreneurship skills in youth from diverse backgrounds, nurtures their values of integrity, respect, and empathy, and connects them to jobs and business opportunities. Background and Rationale:
Project Jaagoron is a civic engagement initiative to be implemented in Dhaka, Manikganj, Gazipur, Chattogram, and Satkhira districts. Led by BYLC in partnership with YPSA and Agrogoti Sangstha, the project aims to empower youth to lead inclusive, rights-based local development through enhanced civic awareness, leadership, and engagement. Project activities will include forming youth groups and engaging existing YLOs, CBOs and OPDs. These groups will receive leadership and civic engagement training and will raise awareness on civic rights through youth meetings and dialogues at the community, union, and upazila levels.
Proposal:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Project Jaagoron in coordination with the project team, partner organizations, and the donor. The position holder will lead and manage partners to ensure smooth and effective project operations, maintain liaison with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure timely reporting in line with donor requirements. The Project Manager will also be accountable for ensuring the quality and successful implementation of all project activities.
Purpose:
The position holder is responsible for providing required management and coordination support to field teams and partners under JAAGORON projects, which include overall project planning, leading, implementation, coordination, controlling, reporting, staffing, and capacity building of staff for achieving the project goals and objectives. The position holder is also responsible for managing and leading the partners for the smooth operation of the project and maintaining liaison with internal and external stakeholders. He/she is also responsible for reporting to the donor in a timely manner and meeting the donor’s requirements.

Strategic:
- BYLC’s Strategies and project goals, policies, plans, and guidelines are properly maintained
- Support to enhance the establishment of strategies for organizational and institutional development, growth, and sustainability
- Initiatives to enhance BYLC’s image and leadership role nationally and globally
- Follow institutional and program regulatory requirements and adherence of country laws and regulations
- Promote and practice BYLC Values (Integrity, Respect Towards Others, Empathy, Excellence in everything We Do, Continuous Development and Practice Adapting Leadership) at all times
- Ensure the safeguard and protection of life and the dignity of all associated personnel of BYLC, as well as the assets and property
- Provide management and coordination support to the field team for the effective implementation of the project
- Prepare an annual operational plan and share it with the field team, and provide strategic guidance for effective implementation of the project
- Project planning, budgeting, financial management, monitoring, implementation,n and capacity building initiatives for the smooth operations of the project
Operational:
- Extensive field visit to oversee the project implementation to ensure the quality implementation by the lead and partner organizations
- Organise and participate in strategic planning meetings, workshops, seminars, etc.
- Manage partners and ensure their project implementation as per the targets withthe given timeline, and ensure need-based, timely reporting as per donor requirements
- Organise monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly project coordination meetings with the team and partners for making strategic decisions and solving problems
- Ensuring cross-cutting program implementation
- Ensure coordination and collaboration support within the team and relevant stakeholders, both internal and external
- Document project learnings, case studies, and knowledge as a knowledge product for the organisation’s future learning
- Prepare and ensure monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly project progress reports for the higher management
- Establish and maintain inter-departmental collaboration and coordination concerning effective and efficient management

Desired candidate profile:
Educational qualification (s): A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Year of experience: Minimum 7-8 Years of work experience in development sectors. Experience can be relaxed for exceptional candidates.
Professional qualification: Relevant project management professionals’ degree/certification will be considered an added value.
