About BYLC:
Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) is the country’s first leadership institute focused on empowering youth from diverse backgrounds. The organization develops leadership, employability, and entrepreneurship skills while promoting values such as integrity, empathy, and respect. BYLC connects young people to career and business opportunities to help them become compassionate and impactful leaders. JAAGORON Project:
Project Jaagoron is a civic engagement initiative to be implemented in Dhaka, Manikganj, Gazipur, Chattogram, and Satkhira districts. Led by BYLC in partnership with YPSA and Agrogoti Sangstha, the project aims to empower youth to lead inclusive, rights-based local development through enhanced civic awareness, leadership, and engagement. Project activities will include forming youth groups and engaging existing YLOs, CBOs, and OPDs. These groups will receive leadership and civic engagement training and will raise awareness on civic rights through youth meetings and dialogues at the community, union, and upazila levels.
Purpose of the Course:
As part of Project JAAGORON, BYLC is developing a series of online courses to extend the project’s civic-engagement learning to a wider youth audience. The three courses are Our Local Government, Civic Engagement for Youth, and Active Citizenship. The courses are approximately 90 – 120 minutes long each, though the duration may vary for each course, and are designed to be accurate, relevant, and accessible to young learners from diverse backgrounds.
Expected Outcome:
The purpose of this engagement is to bring on board a qualified Video Editor to:
- Transform the recorded course footage into polished, learner-friendly videos
- Ensure that the lessons are per standard of the project and BYLC.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities:
1. Content Editing
- Edit and finalize all video lessons for the courses, with a total final duration of approximately 90–120
minutes for each course. The duration may vary reasonably and is not the same for each course. - Review and organize the raw footage and course materials provided by BYLC before editing.
- Prepare and set appropriate 3D/background visuals and maintain visual consistency across the course.
- Carry out color correction, sound balancing, noise reduction, and other necessary audio-visual
adjustments to ensure clear and consistent output. - Add relevant on-screen text, motion graphics, AI animations, transitions, illustrations, and other visual
elements as required by the course content and approved scripts/storyboards. - Ensure that visual elements are appropriate and relevant to Bangladeshi context, support learner
understanding and do not distract from the presenter or instructional content. - Maintain consistency in formatting, typography, transitions, graphics, audio levels, and overall visual
treatment across all lessons. - Collaborate with BYLC’s course/project team to ensure that the edits accurately reflect the course
content, objectives, terminology, and intended learner experience - Ensure that elements used in visualization are royalty-free and are not copied or copyright content
without proper credit.
2. Feedback Incorporation
- Incorporate reasonable feedback and revision requests from BYLC staff and make necessary adjustments
to the final videos. - Deliver the final edited videos in the agreed format and resolution, along with all editable project/source
- files, including relevant Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other working files used for the course.
- Maintain an organized folder structure for final exports, project files, graphics, audio assets, and other
relevant editable materials. - Ensure timely delivery of edited videos according to the mutually agreed production schedule.
3. Collaboration & Feedback
- Participate in storyboard review meetings with the BYLCx team.
- Incorporate agreed feedback and revisions.
Expected Deliverables:
- Fully edited and finalized video lessons for all three courses.
- Final video files in the format and technical specifications agreed with BYLC.
- All editable project/source files used in producing the course videos, including Premiere Pro, After
Effects, AI animations, and other relevant files. - Updated versions of videos incorporating feedback provided by BYLC during the review process.
Level of Effort / Timeline:
The engagement involves an estimated total of 2 months of effort, alongside additional time for feedback incorporation only if required, indicatively distributed as follows (exact dates to be confirmed through mutual agreement)
- Content organizing period: review the raw footage, branding, and storyboarding guidelines.
- Editing videos: edit the videos according to the above-mentioned terms and conditions and agreed upon
timeline.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in professional video editing, preferably for online courses, educational content, training materials, or similar productions.
- Demonstrated expertise in motion graphics, AI animations, text animation, color correction, audio correction, chroma keying, and 3D environment modeling.
