Deputy Manager, Communication and Marketing

Purpose

The main responsibility of this position is developing BYLC’s communication strategies and managing the organization’s presence through different mediums. Purpose:
Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) is expanding its operation to Chattogram. We are looking for energetic and hard-working professionals who strive for excellence to run our Chattogram office. The Executive, Admissions will be responsible for planning, organizing, maintaining and managing the processes and operations of admission and registration services.

Core responsibilities:

  • Manage and update applicant database accurately
  • Communicate with script checkers and interviewers
  • Communicate with candidates regarding their interview and selection
  • Oversee admission and registration related queries
  • Collect the payment for registration process
  • Prepare a list of final selected candidates
  • Assist with administrative tasks as required and directed by the coordinator
  • Manage local volunteers and Youth Consultants during the admissions process
  • Assist the Faculty in teaching as co-faculty
  • Facilitate in the leadership programs

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline

Experience:
1-2 years of relevant experience would be an added advantage

Skills:

  • Organized and systematic way of working with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for improving the professional capabilities of youth

Executive, Finance and Accounts

Core responsibilities:

  • Issue payments against invoices on time by either cheque or cash. Must ensure all expenses are approved and justified with necessary supporting documents according to IFRC/BYLC’s policies and procedures;
  • Post and allocate expenses and receipts to Tally (accounting software)
  • Manage petty cash as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
  • Support monthly and year-end closing procedure;
  • Assist in preparing and processing cash forecast for the delegation in a timely manner;
  • Maintain all financial documents
  • Assist in identifying variances in actual expenditure and the budget;
  • Assist with auditing expenses, checking financial documents, invoices, etc. to ensure adequate documentation, coding, and reporting of financial transactions;
  • Prepare monthly financial reports;
  • Ensure VAT and tax deductions are compliant with Government rules and regulations;
  • Monitor compliance with BYLC’s and Donor requirements, rules and regulations;
  • Provide support to complete internal & external audit;
  • Maintain bank accounts and banking affairs
  • Perform any other work-related duties assigned by the line manager.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education:

MBA in Accounting/Finance, or ACCA or CACC

Skills:

  • Knowledge of using accounting software
  • Personal qualities should include integrity, commitment to public service, independent thinker, team player, and an eye for detail
  • Knowledge and skills in general administration, procurement, operational guidelines and tools
  • Able to influence, communicate, co-operate and negotiate with a wide range of people and organizations
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Language Proficiency in English and Bangla

Experience Requirements:

More than 1 year of experience in analyzing, planning and managing finance and budge

Intern, IT

Purpose

The Intern will be responsible for maintaining and managing the day-to-day IT operations

Core responsibilities

  • Provide support to the IT team in the maintenance of hardware, software and other systems
  • Run updates and backups when requested
  • Research device prices from vendors, collect quotations and reporting options to supervisor
  • Troubleshooting issues with equipment like Desktop/Laptop, solving hardware/software faults and replacing the parts as and when required.
  • Monitoring and providing necessary support of Scanner, Printer, portable HDD, UPS, Headphone, Printer Ink and Cartridge.
  • Maintaining IT equipment fixed asset register and Marking/Tagging the product.
  • Ensuring the data security, backup, and document of all IT users.
  • Assist in providing new PC/Laptop Configuration (Antivirus and necessary software driver setups).
  • Monitoring network feasibility, such as AP, Switch, Server, Printer, Scanner, etc.
  • Assist preparing documentation of different IT Process & functionalities.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor as and when required.

Education

  • Pursuing or pursuit of bachelor’s degree in a top-tier university in CS or CSE department

 Skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Familiar with basic network setup/management
  • Familiar with PC hardware troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge on Mikrotik Router (will be an advantage)
  • Must be available and willing to commit at least six (6) months and five (5) days per week initially for the internship
  • Must have a creative approach to solving problems
  • Good communication skill (written & spoken) both in Bengali and English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong sense of self-motivation
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
